Camping without a group

Hey beautiful people! Maybe someone here can help with this question 💖

My hubby and I decided to go to the festival just the two of us for the first time. We both have about 15 years of festival experience incl three fusion, together and separately but we’ve always been part of a group of friends.

The one thing I’m worried about is camping without a group. This is supposed to be a small festival (never been there) but I just can’t imagine having only our little tent... I’m afraid we’ll end up feeling isolated or camping in some awkward spot or smth like that. I think what I’m really going to miss is having that shared space everyone creates together like a little safe space where you can always come back, hang out with friends and feel at home.

Has anyone else experienced this? How did it turn out for you? Usually I don’t get anxious about festivals at all but for some reason this camping situation is driving me a lil crazy.

Have a great day and thanks so much for any advice! 🫶

Bring a small floor mat or rug, plus LED torches (like tiki torches?) to create your own small space outside of your tent. Also maybe talk to a group nearby, most people at festivals are lovely. We "adopted" somebody travelling alone and very light, so they felt welcome in "our" space even if we werent there

thank you for your answer! I think talking to the ppl around us is actually always good idea 💖 I'm also thinking about putting a small tarp over our tent to create a bit more covered space outside
