Cocaine?

Cocaine?
This year, I really noticed people on cocaine. Cocaine changes the atmosphere significantly - even when people are happy and loving, it's still somehow aggressive, tense, and for me, the anti-thesis of the Fusion feel. There are also the ethics of buying this kind of drug...
What to do?
Ban?
Education?
Should we all start wearing funny anti-cocaine t-shirts?
I spent some time in the taxi by the Casino, which had a discussion prompt that went something like 'Can you be left and take cocaine?' Great question. (If anyone remembers the exact phrasing, remind us!)
TLDR I hate cocaine but trying to be open about how to approach this... Autonomism etc etc

Re: Cocaine?
I noticed horrible people on alcohol, should we ban? I believe its not the drug, it’s the person itself as I also use coke and had a smile all week:)movingmybody hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 4. Re: Cocaine?
While it is true that shitty people do shitty things while high, I also believe it cannot be denied that coke does tend to bring out the worst out of people. Of course not for everyone, but after going to raves and festivals, patterns to start to emerge.Sturmenator hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 4. Jul 2025, 15:06I noticed horrible people on alcohol, should we ban? And coke does push the ego for many people, so its not far fetched to see the connection here.
Besides that, this year specifically, buying coke on the grounds wasnt that safe. As there was some ultra pure coke going around which gave multiple people a heart attack.
Re: Cocaine?
There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. And I have a lot of compassion for those struggling with addiction.
For those curious, I would really recommend this if you want to know where your coke comes from, the amount of exploitation involved including the farmers growing coca to meet basic living needs, the people used as drug mules, and not to mention the violence that encroaches entire countries:
https://archive.org/details/Gordon.Rams ... TV.x264FTP
For those who ask why Gordon Ramsay made this documentary: one of his chefs David Dempsey died from cocaine-fueled behavior, and his own brother has struggled for a long time with addiction (I think with heroin).
Mixing coke + alcohol = very dangerous. Test your drugs (https://cms.knowdrugs.app/en/), inform yourself, and be safe! ♥︎

Re: Cocaine?
honest response, I dont drink anymore without coke since 10 years as I fall asleep from alcohol and have gaps in my memory. it works for me to use it. it’s all about how you dose, with everything…. and in Amsterdam all drugs from dealers are testedpanic4eva hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 4. Re: Cocaine?
I overall agree, but would rather word it as that ANY drug ingested, reinforces what's already there (and we also are attracted to the drugs that "fill our void", so to speak).MeterPaffay hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 4. Jul 2025, 15:56

Horrid to learn about the heart attacks though -- in that regard, I mentioned several times during the festival wondering whether I simply happened to cross paths with "all" emergencies, this year, or if indeed there were many more than usual (7th Fusion for me). Anyone have a clue?
Last but not least several vendors showed to fuck their buyers over grandiosely: 2 g of MD turned out to be only .75 g total (!), and 1 g of 2C-B (albeit good quality, apparently) turned out to be a measly .3. I mean ... come ON. Guess attending Fusion doesn't guarantee basic decency after all. But is this common/common knowledge, perhaps?

Re: Cocaine?
Yeah, drugs bring out whats inside of us generally, but as a general rule, over my 10 years in the scene, I have seen very few cases in which coke didnt make the person less fun to be with in some way...irrelevant hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 4. But thats a topic for itself.
This year was my 6th time, another round as part of a crew. Not going to name which, but lets just say we notice this kind of stuff.
And I personally didnt perceive it to be worse than the last years, sounds like you just happened to cross paths with more medics and smashed people than usually.
Well damn, that last part is quite a rip off, sorry to hear that!
I got ripped off myself some years ago, but not this badly. I prefer to sort this question out in other ways and getting something from some random person is down low on my list of options regarding this matter.

Ooh, don't get me wrong, I agree on that -- both that and speed I find hard to be around!MeterPaffay hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 4. Good to know it (likely) was purely coincidental coming across so many emergencies (myself actually being one of them at a certain point ... oops.

Appreciate it -- my thoughts exactly ... in this case I only see 2 options coming out of this lesson though:
Bring your own scale, or don't buy loose weight at Fusion.

Re: Cocaine?
know what you buy and if you dont, then go to a drug testing stand close to the casino. Also please dont mention several heart attacks when you dont know if any and how many, can you share an article about it? the only article i Find is about a girl hospitalized and the cause is unknown.irrelevant hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 4.
