Strebel is a fusion of Strobo and Nebel (ger: Smoke). These are two of the doctor's favorite ingredients for building a Dancefloor.
The doctor got much of his inspiration on the legendary ADM squat in Amsterdam where festivals like Robodock took place. The metal-art and fire effects are still seen in many of the creations of dr. Strebel.
In 2014 Dr. Strebel built six fire spitting metal dragons for the Türmbühne which have been iconic for Fusion Festival ever since.
After the Dragons flew away from the Türmbühne to the Palapa stage in 2018, the doctor and his team moved back to their safe haven of the Tanzwüste. There, he and Flexxi have been in charge of the lighting concept and the Tanzwüste Lightcrew since 2019.
Integrated in every light concept have been Dr. Strebels kinetic light installations. This year, as in 2023, the ‘Robots’ are dancing in the desert; 8 misterious creatures are slowly climbing to the sky and reaching out to the crowd and lighting up the dancefloor.
Apart from Fusion Festival, Dr. Strebel and his team are part of many festivals like Wildeburg (NL), Into the Woods (NL) and Bucht der Träumer Festival (DE).
