Thought about that too, but guessed that the loud speakers + poor walky talky mics wouldn't be the best tool in this scenario.
How good is mobile reception? What to do if lost (I am scared)?

Yeah sure maybe you wont be able to talk in the center of the dance floor, but there are plenty of spaces which are quiet and relaxed enough that walkie talkies are working just fine

Please keep especially this in mind. The important crews have professional digital radios, so with a regular cheap, consumer walkie talkie that has a dozen pre-programmed channels or so you shouldnt be even able to get into the channels of the crews. But if that happens, all non authorized radio users are of course urged to immediately leave said channel.
I have a personal story from a small festival, where we as crew had cheap radios that many people have, so of course it happened a couple of times where people accidentally ended up on our frequency. Most people usually left immediately, but I do remember an instance where a friend of mine had to trick the people in question in order to track them down, and give them a serious talk to finally get them out of our channel because they either didnt hear us or just refused for whatever reason.
If their "radio jamming" had happened during a critical situation, I would have tracked the people down myself and kicked them off the fesitval, with force if necessary.

Let me answer the last part in brackets:
If you really get a bit scared because…its a huge area and there are thousands of people everywhere.. dont hesitate to just ask someone! Maybe not the obviously totally drunk person, they might not be a good source of information
but just anyone at any bar, foodtruck or tent. Who knows, you might even make new friends for the day/night.
In over 10 years at the Fusion, i have only ever come across 2 guys i would not want to interact with, everyone is in a special happy mood!
