<3 Agreed. And also enticing enough to do so ...

The preparation starts as soon as the festival is over ;)

but in all seriousness, usually, 2 months before the festival I start by rewatching the documentary and scouring the forum for leaked bands/acts/DJs.
I would note what I want to see in a notepad and share links of the bands/acts/DJs with people I know who are also going.
Rewatching pictures I took with a disposable camera.
That's all the hype and reminiscing preparation.

When it comes to what I take with me to the festival 14 days before I start watching the weather to choose my clothing
Check if my small emergency kit still has bandaids, disinfectant, bandages...
Set up the tent indoors to air it out and do a condition check
Go to a store to get some trail mix, and a bottle of elixir d'anvers( a strong liqueur from the town I live in) to share with willing camp neighbors.

Once the lineup Is officially released listening to all of it make complicated lists.
quadrupole check everything and search for hidden gems, to forget it all when you arrive and just go where it feels good.

yeah that's about it...

How did I not see that coming.;)

But both impressive and sympathetic prep! It's quite cool to learn so many others also take their Fusion "seriously", put so much effort, and take so much joy, in everything concerning it.

Not until this year have I (through this forum) been attentive to artist leaks, tbh. Only sat with the time table puzzling my little cheat sheet together once that was released. This way is better -- it draws anticipation out much longer.

Probably won't find time for the docu before leaving; due to reasons kinda out of my control I'm starting late this year.

For clothes I pretty much have the same "kit" always (layer on layer and covering most weather), but ofc it's a bit unsettling before knowing "for sure" there are no floods coming.;) So exact same in that regard.

The tent check probably is wise -- probably should consider it, but it's so much extra work, and bulky ...

Sweet with the sharing gift (also something I would like to incorporate somehow). What's trail mix though?

Haha I'm actually quite good at following mine, but some years ended up not liking who I usually like, so moving on to unknown territory, and/or got caught up on the way. I find that having the "skeleton" as starting point works quite well.

Thanks for sharing!

Kudrun hat geschrieben: Do 30. Mai 2024, 16:18 The only thing clothing wise I am very unsure about is the last layer/jacket. I usually take a big warm 80's windbreaker and a thin rain jacket but the windbreaker is bulky af and this year I need clothes for 2 weeks. My jacket collection for bad weather is mostly wool coats so that's not an option either. I don't really want to buy another jacket so I will stare at my closet, wait for inspiration and religiously check the weather forecast 😂
I can highly recommend a long Sherpa/Teddy coat, e.g.:

I bought mine for like 10€ on Vinted, my boyfriend for 3€ at Humana, so cost-wise it can really not be a big deal. The fabric "forgives" a lot – rain, dirt etc. and it´s perfect to simply throw over your day "summer outfit" without needing an outfit change, cause it covers the upper legs or even more and keeps warm, but not too warm.

Yes, it is a lot of fabric, but if you use one of those compressing bags, it´s not bigger than a packed up sleeping bag.

i start to scan the forum months before. it's always fun to start reading here, getting in the mood. it's basically always the same content & questions, but I dont mind at all haha, just gobbling everything up mhhh!

As for packing things, I actually pack the day of my bassliner, but I will make starting a list of things I have to buy weeks before and than assemble all the necessities in the week of. This year I will get music ear-plugs. My hearing was actually quite hit last year, and I never want to do the same mistake again. music quality be damned...

Also as someone who only irregularly does sports, I started this week, wanting to get a little bit of exercise in everyday, cardio and strength (especially for my legs and back!), so I am ready for the dance marathon!

Trail mix is a mix of nuts seeds and dried fruit, an easy snack.
I don't want to haul a lot of food with me.

A nice sharing gift could also be a haiku you write for people.
I just take the easy route with some alcohol.

Haha, 1st year I participate this much here so still "new" to me.:)

But ooof, my god -- the same day?! Thats brave.

Sorry about your ears. Good you healed them though. I've never really felt ear plugs work when partying (regular ones, too muffled sound), but then usually also am at the back or sides so care for the ears that way.

 Too funny! That's pretty smart however, and exercise is always good for us. Neat little prep!

Aaah, I know now! Thanks for clarifying. Yeah that's a great option.

Hehe still pondering on what would feel "right", but still easy ... but think I came up w/ some neat things.
