Yes, exactly a hotel-stopover on the way back.

I think if the forecast ever looked like 2011 I would get me some of these water proof pants-boots-combo things you wear for fishing  But dancing on the crates looks lowkey fun

Thankfully it was quite warm at the same time, but probably got sick afterwards yeah

What's the most absurd thing you pack(ed)? I think mine would have to be a Sodastream, cause Sprudel is life :D

Oh great, I've done the supporter (or crew) thing quite a few times but never the Pre2 slot, so I am exited already. There are so many different things to do, I am sure you will find something fitting. I personally love the kitchens (which can get quite hectic) but checking people in is always fun (cause everybody is just happy and hyped and you smile for 6h) and doing "security" for random areas (eg checking the wristbands for a backstage) is the most chill thing in my opinion cause you can sit or even lay down and just enjoy the music from the next stage or do some people watching.
Would be much appreciated if anyone could let me in on the long-lost secrets of Fusion-packing!
Lot of my list is just basic camping stuff and clothes but here are some more specific ones:

A pillow that unfolds to a blanket with arms, which I altered so it also works as a sort of jacket

The afore mentioned soda stream in combination with a) Krümeltee b) some kind of syrup c) cheap white wine in a tetrapack
Teabags for ice tea (idk its some fruity stuff, I like the mint and lemon one and its great if the water tastes weird)

If you will cook/eat in the camp: stuff for doing the dishes (dish soap, sponge, tea towel for drying, a clothespin or two to pin the sponge and the towel to your tent so they don't end up on the floor + a sturdy plastic bag you can use as a "bowl" to do the dishes in if necessary)

Sleeping mask and earplugs + backup earplugs cause I always loose them in the tent and they get icky quite easily

Thermo Underwear so you can layer if it gets cold
One of the cheap rain ponchos for backup or to give away cause there is always someone without rain clothes

Loads of carabiners, small plastic buckle things and paracord to first strap all the stuff to the backpack and sack barrow and afterwards to use in the camp.

A foldable sack barrow for the transport
A carton of cola (or something similar) cans which go under the tent so you have something cold and bubbly to drink (only if the weather will be hot)
Some kind of plastic box/container which I tape to the bottom (or on top of the cans (also taped to the bottom)) of the sack barrow so things can't fall of as easily and use later on for things that should not get wet or are interesting for bugs (eg. electronics or food) + the lid. Depending on your camp it can also double as a little table.

This bag to put on the sack barrow: https://www.ikea.com/de/de/p/frakta-tas ... 90149148/
In general bags, loads of them to organise my stuff, including plastic bags to take your stuff to the shower or do some washing in (If you stay longer than the weekend) or to keep stuff dry/separated.

I only bring snacks as food but I am thinking of trying out plant milk power and cornflakes/müsli for breakfast this year. But I am not sure yet, saw the powder at rossmann (@irrelevant same thing as a dm basically) and thought it could be practical
Clips to close food if it isn't portion sized

I also keep a lot of my things in my backpack year round so I don't need to think about every little thing (for example one compartment of it always has cable ties, backup lighter, patch for the mattress or tent, the backup rain poncho, the backup earplugs)

Tension seemd to rise at the end of March, when the first sunshine appears. I am so hyped yet, cant wait, i think of the Fusion multiple times a day, everyday❤️❤️❤️❤️🚀
Thank you, and I hear you.:)

@kudrun

Ok, cool. That must feel heavenly. My equivalent has been a cabin, "igloo" or reclining chair on the ferry back. Some distant buddies I once went with (they are 2 best friends) went to Berlin (?) before wherever they were heading after, and checked into a spa for a couple days ...

Bahaha, the mental image! "Onesie, waterproof version". But stellar idea, both practicality wise and even perfectly fitting the "ugliest outfit, I don't give a shit" attitude I love so much with Fusionists. Myeah ... with a warm bath tub waiting, rather.;)

Mhmm. That's the thing.

*snort* You're funny. Maybe not quite the expected "essential", no.
Most absurd ... probably would be 2 mm backup rhinestones and a pair of tweezers, for my nails? The precision work (and a contrasting rhinestone on each nail) is just what you need on day 4, after godknowswhat x 7.

To counter, what's the one thing you came up with bringing after one or more Fusions, that's the best "trick" or helper, so to speak?
For me, it's cooling gel/peppermint oil for the feet. And alsol solution to kill the blisters with.

Pre2 I imagine is helping out prepping before arrival, but maybe not actually building stages etc, or something? Like, in between the two "levels"? That too sounds appealing. Hope you enjoy that as well. How does one sign up for it?

Heh people watching is another fave. The ingenuity and effort and humor people bring to their camps, outfits, etc is something else. It brings me SO much joy. I probably wouldn't feel too useful in those positions, but both chores do seem fitting, and quite agreeable.:D

Initially went to the Eclipse last year, and asked if they could use some help next time. Only then did I find out they are external, and I guess even more importantly, trained. Felt quite naive having thought experience & co would cut it. Oh well.

As for your Fusion gear: Definitely 2.0, I see! That pillowjacket, for one? Bet it's a winner.

We do similar in some aspects though. But for dishes I just use wet wipes, can't be bothered w/ a mini kitchen (only cook rice w/ pesto anyway, and drink tea w/ a cinnamon stick for sweetening; it's easily cleaned). However smart w/ the "bag bowl"!

Same w/ sleeping gear: My version is a thin shawl for the eyes, and also bring a few extra earplugs (to share too).

Layer on layer principle for clothes -- not thermo but f ex tights & shorts. Kind w/ the extra poncho!

Bags and practical things (rubber bands, carabiners, paracord deal), but you up me on that extra container (!) and sack barrow (too hard for the ferry, for me), and then ofc also keep a few things in the backpack always.

Really interesting to dissect, thanks for sharing!

Lurking the forums is my preparation

I've also started looking for outfits on vinted. Already got my shirts I think, but I still need a pair of pants or two, and something for the cold nights.

Other than that I just need to grab the camping stuff from the basement. I try to bring less stuff every year. Looking for a hammer is a fun way to meet the neighbours. Carrying one is a not so fun way to overload your back before the festival even starts.

You get "special" gear for Fusion? Or just happen to need it this one?

Haha, good points!

A bit of both. I need new shirts anyway, but I'm willing to go wild on color and style here. I gravitate towards black usually, but I already bought a black/white and a black/gold one. Even bought grey pants.

I also have a wildly colourful Hawaiian shirt, but it's a terrible synthetic fabric, so it needs replacing.

I'm also doing a batik/bleaching project with a friend. I doubt I'm ever gonna wear that outside the house in any context except festivals.

Aww, this reminds me of an old ex of mine, who more or less refused anything other than black. He worded himself very similarly to your 1st paragraph.

Pity on the synthetics; some of it I kinda like, but usually not the kind I for some reason connect to in this case.

The batik thingy sounds neat, even if only for festivals! Kudos for being open for going outside your comfort zone regardless.<3

A couple of days of Spa afterwards sound great. Sadly I haven't got vacation days left for that. Maybe in the future.

Oh my, the rhinestones and tweezers show true dedication! My nails always look like shit so fast 🙈

I am not sure what kind of work pre2 will bring, but as supporter it's mostly very basic stuff. Apart from the kitchen I could imagine putting down the barrier tape for the camping zones or folding and assembling the info material (like map, timetable, book etc) at least I have done that at other festivals. I think building and decorating etc. is a Crew only thing, but I am not sure. We will see :) One of the most fun things to do (in my opinion) is driving the taxis (or all of the fusion cars in general) and just being send all over the place.

It will be the first fusion of the pillowjacketblanket (got it on sale for 10€ at Ikea at the end of last year and had a vision, its called Fältmal) but I think it will be a strong contender on the most helpful thing. At least in theory, fingers crossed. Apart from that I am not sure... I think it's more of a learning experience what you won't need. Oh and figuring out that the sack barrow has to be small enough to fit the aisle width of a train 😅

So true! ❤️‍🔥

The only thing clothing wise I am very unsure about is the last layer/jacket. I usually take a big warm 80's windbreaker and a thin rain jacket but the windbreaker is bulky af and this year I need clothes for 2 weeks. My jacket collection for bad weather is mostly wool coats so that's not an option either. I don't really want to buy another jacket so I will stare at my closet, wait for inspiration and religiously check the weather forecast 😂

Fusion is definitely a great place to test how it feels to leave that comfort zone

Right?? I would have time, but no $$. Oh well, got a bath tub?^^

Hahaha (minus the rhinestones) if I didn't paint them, I wouldn't have any. But yes, as I very rarely wear makeup (and certainly nearly nothing at Fusion!), caring for my hands have become my "thing".

Sounds pretty neat regardless! Would love to know more once you find out? But you probably are right abt crewing. I can imagine ... it does look like great fun.

WOW. That is some serious find, LOVE it! Ofc discontinued now. Hope it becomes that best friend it looks to have the potential for. Hehe, good point. But so far I've only fine-tuned and added to my load, tbh. It's a little bit more than I need, but I'm also the kind to curse myself blue if not having a few options, or you know ... for some reason need that very thing I decided NOT to bring, for once. So I accepted this trait of mine.

Maybe something layer on layer will work? I also recommend small but very helpful things such as EarBags (https://www.earbags.com/en/earbags/standard-en) and hand gaiters (I have a pair of thick woolen ones from my 1st Fusion that come to EVERY rave, club, and F).

And here's my best F weather station: https://www.proplanta.de/Agrar-Wetter/L ... etter.html

If it's good enough for the local farmers ...
